We're Brett and Megan. And we have a son, Emerson, our most discerning critic and bellhop-in-training.
We're not hoteliers by trade or training. Brett comes from construction, Megan from PR and communications, and then from the deeply underrated profession of raising and educating a small human (our son). But what we are, is a family that got honest with itself about what mattered. In taking a leap into the unknown, we made a decision that probably looked reckless from the outside, all in pursuit of a life that finally felt like ours.
We bought The Lindsey not to ‘own’ it, but to take part in a small segment of a long and wonderful history. To have the honor of being temporary caretakers of something that has welcomed people through its doors for the better part of two centuries. The building has survived fires, ownership changes, a removed floor, and more than a few Maine winters. It doesn't need us to save it - in fact, it’s quite the other way around.
We're here because it feels better to invest in ourselves and the community we’re a part of, than in an index fund. We're here because, in a society steeped in technology, there is no substitute for real human connection, generosity, comfort, and yes, hospitality. Some of the few things technology hasn't figured out how to replace, and we hope it never does. We're here to show our son that following your dreams and taking a leap of faith, even when it scares you, is usually worth it.
Mostly, we're here for you. Because we believe that we all thrive when we truly engage in meaningful relationships and experiences.
We're learning as we go. We'll get some things wrong. But we'll be genuine about it, and we'll give you everything we've got.
We're glad you found us, and we can’t wait to meet you.
Welcome to The Lindsey Hotel.
