what to do in rockland, maine…
Rockland, Maine is a working waterfront city that has been feeding, entertaining, and delighting visitors since 1854. World-class art, fresh lobster, a lighthouse at the end of a mile-long granite jetty, and a food scene that outperforms most cities twice its size. It has quietly become one of the most interesting small cities on the eastern seaboard.

BREAKFAST
Cafe Grazie 148 Main St, Rockland. A new kid on the block but one of our favorites. Awesome baked stuff and truly great coffee.
Home Kitchen Cafe 456 Main St, Rockland. Huevos Rancheros, breakfast burritos, and a solid reputation for great food all around.
Atlantic Baking Co. 351 Main St, Rockland. Freshly baked everything and great coffee. A good place to stock up before heading to walk the Breakwater.
Buttermilk Kitchen 35 Main St, Camden. Our favorite breakfast spot and the owners are great. Try the Breakfast Biscuit sandwich with sausage. Trust us.
Seafolk Coffee 22 Central St, Rockport. As prior residents of Rockport, this was a staple. Great coffee and things to eat, such a cute space, and great place to meet and converse with folks.
LUNCH
McLoon’s Lobster Shack 315 Island Rd,
South Thomaston. In our opinion, if you’re going to get lobster in Midcoast, this is the place to do it.
Honey’s Fried Chicken Palace 153 New County Rd, Thomaston. Don’t let the name fool you. From the folks behind the beloved and now closed Ancho Honey comes this great fried chicken spot closer to home.
North Beacon Oyster* 421 Main St, Rockland. About a 60 second walk from us, this IS Rockland’s oyster bar.
Wasses 2 N Main St Rockland. Get the Bacon Cheddar dog and add grilled onions and spicy pepper relish. Trust us.
Bleeker & Greer 310 Commercial St, Rockport. Great butcher but also great breakfast and lunch spot and market.
DINNER
Sammy’s Deluxe* 488 Main St, Rockland. Literally our neighbor, Sam & team are responsible for food that landed them a spot on New York Time’s Top 50 Restaurants in America list.
Primo* 2 Main St, Rockland. Another award winner is Primo. A true farm-to-table experience and a must-visit.
In Good Company* 415 Main St, Rockland. A local staple with locally-sourced ingredients, and truly great food.
Long Grain* 20 Washington St,
Camden. Thai and Vietnamese dishes that we’d stack up against any big city’s offerings. It’s very good.
Nīna June* 24 Central Street, Rockport. Awesome Mediterranean inspired dishes in a fantastic space. Worth the short drive up to Rockport.
