A historic boutique hotel in the heart of midcoast maine

Just off Main Street, in the thriving harbor town of Rockland, Maine, The Lindsey Hotel occupies a thoughtfully renovated 1830s estate and courtyard.

our rooms

Our guest rooms are shaped by the old bones of the building and no two are exactly alike, which we love. Each one has its own proportions, light, and mood, but all are designed with the same intention: comfort, character, and a considered sense of place.

All of our rooms are intentionally TV-free. If you find yourself with time on your hands, tell us. We’ll bring up a selection of our favorite books, point you toward a few walkable spots, or you can grab a drink downstairs and settle into the living room or library, and who knows, maybe meet someone interesting.

Every room has at least three windows, so natural light is never in short supply. You can also choose between rooms with wood floors or carpet, depending on your underfoot preference.

Layouts and details vary across the property, but this thread runs through all of them: historic charm, thoughtful design, and an easy kind of comfort. If you have preferences or special requests, let us know and we’ll do our best to make the room fit the stay.

More on our amenities

  • If our standard hair dryer simply won’t do, we’ve got you covered. We have several salon-quality Dyson hair dryers available upon request and subject to availability.

  • This may ruffle a feather or two, but there are no TVs at The Lindsey. We’re aiming for a stay that feels rich, personal, and genuinely restorative, where your nervous system can unclench a little.

Consider it a polite invitation to step away from the glowing rectangle and into Rockland, the coast, or even just… yourself.

If you find yourself with time on your hands, tell us. We’ll bring up a selection of our favorite books, point you toward a few walkable spots, or you can grab a drink downstairs and settle into the living room, and who knows, maybe meet someone interesting.

  • It’s okay, so are we, and we’re big believers in a properly calibrated morning ritual. At our communal coffee bar you’ll find both simple grab-n-go options, Nespresso for those in a hurry, as well as locally and ethically-sourced beans from some of our favorite roasters.

And yes, we have tea too, the good stuff. Because tea-drinkers are people too~ beautiful, less-jittery people.

  • We offer a range of substantial and unique on-demand items for use during your stay. From Molekule air filters to Therabody massagers and yoga mats, we’ve got you covered.

We also have unique and useful daily add-on packages (for a fee), like an adventure kit that includes the world’s best cooler, luxury beach towels and other day-trip essentials.

If there’s an item that would make your trip better, let us know and we’ll do our best to make it happen.

  • Damn, I forgot my ________!

Happens to the best of us. You think you nailed the packing gig, then arrive only to realize your toothbrush and phone charger are back at home. No worries, we’ve got you.

We keep a tidy stash of travel essentials on hand, the sort of things civilized people prefer not to go without. Tell us what you’re missing and we’ll either produce it like it was the plan all along, or we’ll set about tracking one down with reasonable determination and minimal theatrics.

  • Since our rooftop helipad is undergoing maintenance, we assume you arrived by car. You have three parking options~

    1. We lease parking spaces just down the street, that are reserved for our guests, self-park, and free of charge (woohoo!) We’ll give you details prior to your arrival.

    2. You’re welcome to park out front but it’s 2-hour and Rockland does ticket. And during summer? Forget about it, parking becomes a rare earth mineral.

    3. Lastly, we have two coveted on-site parking spaces that are available for a fee, subject to availability.

  • We love breakfast, we do, but here’s the truth of the matter. We decided early on that in lieu of providing you with a mediocre breakfast we’d focus our efforts and talents on finding other magical ways to make your stay memorable, value-oriented, and special.

Additionally, Rockland and Midcoast Maine already have so many wonderful and fantastic breakfast spots that we’d love to support by recommending to our guests.

All this being said, we do have fresh pastries from a local bakery available from 7AM-10AM, and a fantastic coffee and tea setup available 24hrs.
